First off, HIM has been praised by rock legends such as David Bowie and Iggy Pop, they are compared to Bowie in the sense that they have differfent era's and can change their musical style at any time. If anyone is ignorant, it is you. And as far as their fans being emo goes that is far from true. There is nothing in their music that suggests any emo values, and regardless it is signifigantly better than being a moronic stoner like Jerry Garcia.

Incidentally and without bias, I think HIM is awesome. I really wish this site wouldn't so often denegrate the text equivalent of a shit-slinging match. Let's all grow up and enjoy what we respectively wish to, shall we?

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'd even go so far to say that label execs aren't necessarily the be-all end-all of opinion... Music is, after all, a means of expression, and the enjoyment of ANY band is subjective to each listener... I have written music reviews for a quarterly publication for about 7 years now, and while not everything I recieve is something I like or would listen to again, it's NEVER occurred to me to waste the time (or expensive print space) to bash someone's hard work!
