I do not think this is hardware overclocking but only software overclocking.Try to overclock your computer hardware and compare it to software overclocking.By the way, if that thing is actually tweaking the hardware, then that's some seriously bad architecture. Because it's affecting the software part.

Wrong, The DS works just be one frequency that tells it the speed it had to go at, if the frequency is bigger than the performance is increased.

Depends on how the whole DS works.Can't overclock a PS2 because it messes up every clock.
