Yeah, when I played the first one and this one on the NES (a few days ago) I was impressed by the graphics, way better looking than the first Final Fantasy games on the NES and the music sounds very good for an 8bit game...whoever ported these games to the NES (not Falcom) did a fanstastic Job.

You can play the translated version on 1980-games.

Search "Plight of the Fan Translator" to find English translation patches and search for "The Legacy of Ys" to find the "Alternate Soundtracks" which are actually the music from the Turbografx CD versions.

You should try the PC version...I have bought both games of it. Ys I and II from Himeyashop dot com. ^^

Isn't Dragon Slayer (which LotW is part 4) one of those series that suffers Final Fantasy syndrome anywhere else but Japan? |
